Job summary

MNP is seeking an Accountant within its Assurance & Accounting team in Canada. The role focuses on delivering tailored financial information to help clients make informed decisions in a rapidly evolving reporting landscape.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in commerce or business administration (accounting/finance major preferred).
• CPA prerequisites or enrollment anticipated upon employment.

Responsibilities

• Develop technical skills in compilations, reviews, audits, bookkeeping and tax.
• Learn IFRS/GAAP/ASPE as applicable.
• Set up files for new clients and manage multiple files.
• Perform AR/AP, asset dispositions and payroll walkthroughs.
• Summarize financial status with balance sheets and P&L statements.
• Assess audit evidence for expenses, revenues and assets.
• Review and correct discrepancies in financial entries and reports.
• Establish charts of accounts and post entries.
• Prepare client correspondence, reports and engagement findings.
• Collaborate with client teams and build relationships with contacts.
• Contribute to process improvements using MNP programs.
• Maintain flexibility to travel as needed.
