Job summary

Macfab Manufacturing Inc. is seeking a Tool Setter (Presetter) to support CNC machining by preparing, organizing, and maintaining tools and related equipment for production. This hands-on role suits someone mechanically inclined, organized, and comfortable in a fast-paced shop.

Day Shift: Mon-Thurs 6:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m. and Fri 6:00 a.m.–10:00 a.m. You will prep tools, set offsets, and collaborate with CNC operators to ensure smooth workflows.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of experience in a machining, tool crib, or manufacturing environment.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and comfort working with tools, fixtures, and precision components.
• Ability to read basic technical instructions, tooling sheets, and part documentation.

Responsibilities

• Tool Preparation - Gather, inspect, and prepare tools, holders, inserts, fixtures and gauges for CNC operators.
• Tool Assembly - Assemble tool holders, set offsets, and ensure accurate measurements for loading.
• Equipment Organization - Maintain an orderly tool crib; label and store tools and components.
• Inspection & Verification - Inspect tools for wear, verify readiness against travelers and sheets.
• Inventory Support - Monitor tool inventory and communicate shortages or replenishment needs.
• Collaboration - Work with CNC operators and supervisors to ensure timely tool delivery.
• General Shop Support - Assist with cleaning, organization and continuous improvement tasks.
