Job summary

Garland, a Welbilt brand, located in Mississauga, is seeking a skilled CNC Programmer to join our manufacturing team. You will create and optimize CNC programs for laser, punch and sheet metal fabrication, while collaborating with Engineering and Production to meet schedules and quality standards.

You will review drawings, ensure accuracy, and support continuous improvement initiatives, including nesting optimization and setup support for brake presses.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree, Diploma or equivalent in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering or related field.
• 2–4 years of CNC programming experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with sheet metal fabrication and CNC punching, laser cutting, or turret punching.
• Experience programming brake presses is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain CNC programs for laser, punch and sheet metal equipment based on drawings.
• Perform progressive nesting to maximize material utilization and meet daily production needs.
• Review manufacturing packages and generate CNC programs for production.
• Verify drawings, dimensions, tolerances, and material specs before release.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Supervisors and shop floor to resolve issues.
• Support continuous improvement: programming efficiency and waste reduction.
• Assist with programming and setup for brake presses as needed.
• Update CNC programs for engineering changes and production needs.
• Troubleshoot programming issues on the shop floor.
• Maintain programming libraries and documentation per standards.
• Ensure compliance with quality, safety and manufacturing procedures.
• Provide technical support and training to operators when required.
• Participate in production meetings and support scheduling.
