Job summary

Brandt Group of Companies seeks a Machine Operator to program and operate plasma and laser cutting equipment in a Canadian metal fabrication setting in Saskatchewan. You will maintain equipment, follow preventive maintenance schedules, and report issues promptly while supporting varying shifts and workload requirements.

The role requires reading drawings, working in a steel fabrication shop, and a proactive approach to Lean principles and continuous learning.

Qualifications

• Read drawings/blueprints.
• Work in a steel fabrication shop.
• Able to work independently.
• Fluent in English.
• Familiar with 5S/Lean principles.

Responsibilities

• Program simple cuts on the machine.
• Operate and maintain plasma and laser cutting equipment.
• Adhere to production schedules.
• Report programming or software issues to supervisor or programmer.
• Work varying shifts and workloads/overtime as required.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area.
• Ensure machine is in optimal working condition.
• Support efficient material flow into and out of the machine.
• Follow the PM schedule defined by the manufacturer.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
