Job summary

Owen Sound is seeking a skilled CNC Programmer/Machinist to support 3/5-axis operations. You will translate CAD drawings into CAM programs, run simulations, and verify code through tooling and process optimization.

You will review blueprints, select tooling, speeds, feeds, and ensure GD&T compliance while maintaining rigorous safety and quality standards. This on-site role requires strong reading comprehension, problem-solving, and clear communication in a fast-paced manufacturing environment in

Qualifications

• Experience checking fixture and automation details.
• Previous experience operating 3/5-axis CNC machines as a machinist.
• CAD/CAM experience – SolidWorks, PowerMill, and PowerShape an asset.
• FCS and other standardized work fixturing knowledge an asset.
• Excellent reading comprehension skills.
• Problem-solving, time management, and organizational skills.
• Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Mechanically inclined.
• Ability to read blueprints and comprehend GD&T.

2. Create instructions/set-ups for machinists.
3. Translate instructions into a computer automated manufacturing (CAM) program.
4. Verify completed programs by running simulations.
5. Analyze and select optimal tooling, speeds, and feeds.
6. Optimize and improve processes continuously.
7. Comply with all safety rules and regulations.
8. Other duties as assigned.

Skills & Experience:

1. Relevant experience related to checking fixture and automation details.
2. Previous experience operating 3/5-axis CNC machines as a machinist.
