Job summary

EXCO Technologies is seeking a Senior CNC Manufacturing Engineer in Markham, Ontario. You will lead advanced machining projects, optimize milling and turning processes, and drive automation in a fast-paced metalworking environment.

The role requires hands-on CNC programming experience with Fanuc/Mitsubishi/Heidenhain controls, strong tooling knowledge, and the ability to mentor a growing team across Engineering, Manufacturing, CAM, and IT. Travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in the metal machining industry.
• CNC programming for milling and turning.
• Experience with FANUC, Mitsubishi, and Heidenhain controls.
• Strong knowledge of machining processes, tooling and manufacturing techniques.

Responsibilities

• Test and develop cutting tools, machining techniques, and manufacturing methods, focusing on milling pre/post heat treatment.
• Develop and optimize CNC machine macro programs, emphasizing automation and process efficiency.
• Develop machine shop applications and automation solutions with IT team.
• Guide and support the CAM development team.
• Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve day-to-day technical issues in the machine shop.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives related to machining processes, productivity, quality, and automation.
• Provide technical guidance, mentoring, and training to team members as required.
• Travel internationally for short-term assignments as required.

Experience

• Strong practical knowledge of machining processes, tooling, and manufacturing techniques

Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Test and developcutting tools, machining techniques, and manufacturing methods, with a primary focus on milling applications bothbefore and after heat treatment
• Develop and optimizeCNC machine macro programs, with a focus on automation and process efficiency
• Develop machine shop applications and automation solutions in collaboration with theIT team
• Guide and support theCAM development team
• Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve day-to-day technical issues within the machine shop

Skills and Qualities
