Job summary

Eclipse Automation in Cambridge, Ontario is seeking a skilled CNC Programmer/Machinist to contribute to machining policy development and ensure projects meet budget and schedule goals.

You will program CNC mills, lathes and routers using Mastercam, create 3D programs, manage 4th/5th axis work, perform setups, and document processes for repeatability and quality.

Qualifications

• Certificate of Qualification for a General Machinist or equivalent automation/manufacturing experience.
• 7+ years of custom machining and programming experience, including Mastercam.
• Experience with weldments, boring mills and EDM is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints.
• Program CNC milling machines, lathes and routers using Mastercam.
• Create 3D programs from surfaces and solids; 4th/5th axis programming.
• Set up production machinery and ensure close tolerance assembly.
• Prepare process sheets and maintain safe, efficient workflows.
• Collaborate with teammates and communicate effectively.

Job Type: Full-time

Compensation: $30.00-$40.00/hour

The Position:

Reporting to the Machine Shop Supervisor, the Programmer/Machinist will assist in the development and implementation of machining policies and procedures, liaise directly with other department personnel to ensure project goals are met on budget, while delivering the Eclipse Vision and the Eclipse Entrepreneurial Culture.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, charts and tables
• Program computer numerically controlled (CNC) milling machine, lathe and router using MasterCam
• Create 3D Programs form surfaces and Solids
• 4th and 5th axis programming on CNC mill
• Live tooling and 4 axis lathe programming
• Build Process sheets for material flow
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, charts and tables
• Program computer numerically controlled (CNC) machine tools using Mastercam
• Set up and adjust production machinery
• Fit and assemble components and machine parts to close tolerance
• Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision
• Ability to work in a team environment and actively participate in group meetings safely
• Work requires professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
• Work requires willingness to work a flexible schedule and or travel as required in varying timelines

What We’re Looking For:

• Candidate is the owner of a Certificate of Qualification for a General Machinist or has demonstrated equivalent experience in a automation/manufacturing environment
• 7+ years of custom machining and programming using Mastercam experience
• Experienced with machining weldments, boring mill experience and EDM experience an asset
