JNE Welding Ltd. in Saskatoon, Canada, is seeking an experienced CNC operator for plasma, oxy-fuel and fiber laser cutting.

The role requires reading drawings, verifying materials and nest documentation, and coordinating with maintenance and programming teams to ensure quality and on-time production. The position involves handling heavy plate and scrap, operating overhead cranes and forklifts, and maintaining safe, clean work areas while supporting continuous improvement initiatives in safety

Qualifications

• 3+ years experience in manufacturing, fabrication, or industrial production.
• 2+ years practical experience operating CNC production equipment or grid cutting machinery.
• Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings, cut lists, work orders, nest documentation, material specs, and tolerances.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate CNC cutting equipment (plasma, oxy-fuel, fiber laser) per programs and docs.
• Rotate between cutting systems or operate a designated table based on workload and shift needs.
• Review work package, nest, drawings, and cutting docs to confirm job, material, and quantities.
• Verify material type, grade, thickness, dimensions, and ID against production docs before processing.
• Load and unload plate, sheet, or remnants using cranes, forklifts, and approved handling methods.
• Monitor cutting operations, machine status, cut quality, and process conditions within limits.
• Report unsafe conditions, incorrect material/programs, alarms, or quality concerns promptly.
• Perform visual and dimensional inspection of cut components against drawings and specs.
• Ensure components are counted, marked, identified, and staged for downstream work.
• Identify and stage usable remnants for inventory return; separate and dispose of scrap per procedures.
• Complete pre-use and daily operator inspections, housekeeping, and maintenance per checklists.
• Coordinate with Maintenance for laser maintenance, consumables, repairs, and troubleshooting.
• Communicate priorities with CNC Programming, Material Handling, Production, Quality, and Maintenance.
