Job summary

IS2 is seeking an experienced Senior Woodworking CNC Operator to join our CNC department. You will set up and operate 3-axis and multi-axis CNC routers, optimize production workflows, and mentor junior operators.

Candidates should have 5+ years of CNC router experience in woodworking or manufacturing, strong toolpath knowledge, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. We offer health and dental benefits, EAP, RRSP, and career advancement opportunities.

Job description

You’ll set up and operate 3-axis and multi-axis CNC routers, optimize production workflows, troubleshoot machining issues, maintain quality standards, and mentor junior operators.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC routers using job files.
• Optimize toolpaths, feed rates, cycle times, and material yield.
• Manage tooling inventory and maintain cutting tools.
• Troubleshoot machine errors and cutting defects.
• Perform basic preventative maintenance and quality checks.
• Train junior operators and promote safe work practices.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of CNC router experience in commercial woodworking, cabinetry, or manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of toolpaths, feed rates, and tooling.
• Experience with precision measuring tools, including calipers and indicators.
• Excellent troubleshooting skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced production environment.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and handle materials weighing up to 50 lbs (23 kg).
• Must be eligible to work in Canada.
• Flexibility to work day or night shifts.
