Job summary

Kaizen Lab Inc. in Calgary is seeking a dedicated CNC Lathe Machinist to program, set up and operate CNC lathes, and produce precision parts while upholding safety and quality standards.

You will review drawings, adjust speeds and feeds, select tooling, perform in-process checks, and document results. Entry level candidates welcome; CAD/CAM experience such as Mastercam or SolidWorks is a plus, as is a journeyman certificate.

Qualifications

  • 2 years experience operating lathes preferred but not required.
  • Journeyman machinist certificate or equivalent is considered an asset.
  • Experience in Mastercam, SolidWorks or any CAD/CAM software is considered an asset.
  • Must participate in a criminal record check and controlled goods screening

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operation of machines and tools to meet specified tolerances.
  • Review drawings to ensure specifications are met.
  • Adjust machine speeds/feeds and tooling for precision and accuracy.
  • Ensure quality on all parts and enforce Fidelity quality standards (ISO & AS9100).
  • Prepare maintenance tasks and tool calibration.
  • Conduct in-process checks with measuring tools as defined by job leaders and QA.
  • Practical time management for current and future jobs.
  • Ensure work areas are clean and safety policies are followed.

CNC Lathe Machinist

We arecurrently hiring for a full-time CNC Lathe Machinist for ourmanufacturing facility in Calgary, Alberta. A CNC Lathe Machinist producesmachined parts by programming, setting up and operating a CNC machine, whilemaintaining quality and safety standards.

As a CNCLathe Machinist, your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
  • Setup andoperation of a variety of machines and tools required to complete jobs tospecified tolerance
  • Reviewingand interpreting drawings to ensure all specifications are met
  • Modifyingmachine speeds and feeds, utilization ofcorrect tooling, and cuttingstyles to ensure precision and accuracy of manufactured parts
  • Ensuringquality on all parts and enforcing and complying to Fidelity quality standards
  • Preparingmaintenance tasks and tool calibration
  • Fullcompetency in the use and calibration of necessary measuring tools to completein process checks as defined by Job Leaders and Quality
  • Timemanagement planning for current and future jobs
  • Gatheringand confirming correct materials and tooling to complete given tasks
  • Ensuring quality on all parts and enforcing the Fidelity qualitystandard ISO & AS9100
  • Ensuringthat work areas are kept clean and organized, and that all Health and SafetyPolicies are being followed
Qualifications:
  • 2 years experience operating lathes is preferred but not required. Entrylevel candidates are encouraged to apply

  • It is mandatory that this roletake part in a criminal record check and controlled goods screening
