Job summary

Gestal is seeking a hands-on machinist to operate CNC equipment and perform basic programming. The role emphasizes CAD/CAM experience (SurfCAM) and a background in repair or overhaul within a tooling shop environment.

You will read instructions in English, maintain equipment, and participate in cross-functional tasks as needed. A DEP/DEC/ASP in Machining is required, with emphasis on independence and innovative problem-solving.

Responsibilities

• Operate CNC machining equipment and perform basic programming.
• Carry out routine machine maintenance.
• Transport parts between workstations as needed.

• Follow manufacturer instructions for repairing aircraft engine components within dimensional constraints.
• Assist with cleaning, inspection and repair of parts when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for computer numerical control (CNC) machining operations
• Responsible for basic programming of CNC operations
• Conventional machining Experience in computer-aided design (CAD) and computer-aided manufacturing/machining (CAM) (SurfCAM) is a major asset
• Experience in repair and overhaul or tooling shop is a major asset
• Must follow manufacturer's instructions to repair aircraft engine components involving dimensional constraints using conventional or CNC machines
• Perform routine maintenance on machines
• Transport parts, components, or modules from one workstation or center to another, as needed
• Work on call to clean, inspect, and repair parts, as needed
• Work temporarily in another category, as needed.

Requirements

• Vocational diploma (DEP), college diploma (DEC), or professional specialization certificate (ASP) in machining or equivalent
• Ability to read and understand instructions in English
• Responsibility for quality and results
• Demonstrated independence and resourcefulness
• Strong sense of innovation.
