Job summary

D & D Custom Steel Products Ltd. in Hamilton, ON is seeking an experienced machinist to read engineering drawings and set up CNC and conventional machines to produce precision parts.

Candidates should have a secondary school diploma and 3–5 years of related experience, able to work at a fast pace, meet tight deadlines, and ensure close tolerances using precision measuring tools.

Qualifications

  • Secondary school diploma required with 3–5 years of machining experience.
  • Ability to read engineering drawings and blueprints for production.
  • Experience setting up and adjusting production machines and tools.
  • Familiarity with precision measuring instruments and close tolerance checks.

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, charts and tables.
  • Set up and adjust production machineries/tools.
  • Fit and assemble components and machine parts to close tolerance.
  • Maintain, repair and calibrate precision measuring instruments.
  • Verify dimensions of parts using micrometers, calipers and gauges.
  • Set up and operate conventional and CNC machine tools.
  • Verify dimensions of products for accuracy and conformance to specifications.
