Job summary

State Window Corporation in Vaughan, Ontario is seeking a capable machinist to read blueprints, set up production machines and verify precision against specifications. You will perform measurements with micrometers and calipers, maintain tools, document deviations, and work on-site with a team to meet tight tolerances and schedules.

You will also repair tools, set up machines, and ensure records are complete and accurate for quality control.

Qualifications

  • Secondary school diploma required.
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a machining or manufacturing role.
  • On-site work with no remote option.

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, charts and tables.
  • Compute dimensions and tolerances of machine parts.
  • Measure and lay out work pieces in preparation for assembly.
  • Repair machine tools and parts as needed.
  • Set up and adjust production machineries/tools.
  • Fit and assemble components to close tolerances.
  • Maintain, repair and calibrate precision measuring instruments.
  • Document and report deviations from specifications and tolerances.
  • Maintain inspection records and complete inspection reports.
  • Verify dimensions using micrometers and calipers.
  • Set up and operate conventional and computer controlled machine tools.
