Flynn Group of Companies is seeking a CNC Brake Press Operator for our Surrey, BC manufacturing facility. The role reports to the Metals Production Manager and requires hands-on operation of CNC presses and related equipment.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of experience with CNC press brakes, sheet metal fabrication training, and a solid understanding of folding systems. Expect a collaborative environment with a focus on quality and safety.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience as a CNC brake press operator.
• Sheet Metal Worker or Metal fabrication trade training.
• Strong understanding of folding systems and material handling equipment.
• Experience with CNC-controlled folding systems and machine HMIs.
• Familiarity with setup sheets, documented envelopes, tolerance stack‑up.

Responsibilities

• Operate CNC brake presses and related accessories with safety as a priority.
• Set up tooling and offsets to modify program parameters as required.
• Diagnose process issues and communicate with programming/maintenance teams.
• Assist continuous improvement, documentation, and operator training.
• Perform basic quality inspections of materials at checkpoints.
• Generate daily totals and reports; support continuous improvement initiatives.

The CNC Brake Press Operator is a full-time position reporting to the Metals Production Manager. This position will be based out of our Manufacturing Facility (located at 2365 192 Street Surrey, BC).

A Day In The Life

• With safety as the primary focus, operate a large footprint double folder and other associated accessories such as loaders, slitter, and decoiler
• Work with programmer to set up tooling and work offsets to help modify and standardize program parameters as required
• Diagnose process issues and communicate clearly with programming and maintenance teams
• Contribute to continuous improvement, documentation, and operator training
• Preform basic quality inspections of raw and finished materials throughout the operational checkpoints
• Work with project teams to produce a quality product that everyone can be proud of
• Assist in creating samples and feasibility studies on products and process of the operation around the brake press
• Adjust tooling, and reset equipment for product change overs
• Tally daily totals and provide reports
• Support continuous improvement initiatives

What We Are Seeking

• 3+ years of experience as a primary operator of CNC press brakes and accessories along with knowledge of custom flashings, panels, and sequencing
• Sheet Metal Worker or Metal Fabrication trade training
• Strong understanding of folding systems and related material handling equipment
• Strong understanding of sheet metal and finish types for process requirements
• Ability to work within standardized, program‑driven production environments
• Demonstrated commitment to quality, repeatability, and safe operation in a high‑throughput environment
• Understanding of CNC‑controlled folding systems, not just manual brake operation
• Experience working with machine HMI interfaces, diagnostics screens, and alarm states
• Understanding of process capability, repeatability, and tolerance stack‑up
• Familiarity with standard work, setup sheets, or documented operating envelopes
• Proficiency using measuring tools (calipers, angle gauges, bend testers)
• Formal training on:
  • CNC press brakes/folders
  • Automated folding systems
• Experience with 20ft+ brake presses or similar machinery is an advantage
• Experience with double leaf brakes is an asset
