Job summary

Apera AI in Vancouver seeks a Software Development Engineer, Cloud Platform to build the secure infrastructure that delivers our AI-driven vision software to customer devices. You'll create a trusted channel, cloud-hosted deployment, and robust access control.

As a high-ownership role on a small team, you will influence roadmap, architecture, and tooling, ensuring scalable, compliant, and cost-conscious operations across on-site deployments.

Qualifications

• 5+ years building backend or platform infrastructure in production.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure-as-code and migrations.
• Knowledge of secure connectivity and enterprise IT approval.
• Experience with authentication and multi-tenant models.
• Familiarity with SOC 2, ISO 27001, or TISAX.
• Proficiency in Python and data workflows.
• Robust observability and cost-management mindset.

Responsibilities

• Build the connectivity layer to devices and secure channel.
• Design enterprise-scale identity and access management.
• Migrate deployment tooling to the cloud with RBAC.
• Route field data into labs for model training and triage.
• Run infrastructure with cost attribution and lifecycle policies.
• Turn internal tools into developer-friendly products.
