The Ministry of Children and Family Development (MCFD) promotes and develops the capacity of families and communities to care for and protect vulnerable children and youth and supports healthy child and family development to maximize the potential of every child in BC. The Duncan Administrative Team is a collaborative and supportive team that provides essential administrative and clerical support across children and family service offices. Team members work alongside a variety of professionals, including Office Managers, Child Protection Workers, Resource Workers, Child and Youth Mental Health (CYMH) Clinicians, Children and Youth with Support Needs (CYSN) Workers, Directors, and other ministry staff.
The Team Assistant plays an important role in supporting children, youth, and families by providing administrative, clerical, and program support within a children and families office. As a key member of a collaborative team, the Team Assistant works closely with Team Leaders, Social Workers, and Social Work Assistants to help ensure the effective delivery of services and supports. The position serves as a primary point of contact for client intake and helps create a welcoming and responsive experience for clients accessing services.
Reporting to an Office Manager, the Team Assistant provides support across a range of specialized program areas, including mental health, child protection, guardianship, adoption, and other family-focused services. This role offers a unique opportunity to develop broad program knowledge while contributing to meaningful work that makes a positive difference in the lives of children, youth, and families.

There are two temporary positions available (one opportunity until October 8, 2027 and one opportunity until January 31, 2027), with the possibility of extension and/or the position becoming permanent.
These positions require full-time, in-person work at one of the two Duncan locations.
An eligibility list may be established to fill future temporary and permanent vacancies.
A Criminal Record Check (CRC) and Criminal Record Review Act Check (CRRA) will be required.
