Job summary

The Saskatchewan Health Authority is seeking a Clinical Support Nurse at Saskatoon City Hospital, Saskatoon. You will join the Code Blue/Outreach team, delivering critical care interventions and stabilizing patients with deteriorating conditions until transfer.

Working in days, nights, and weekends, you will mentor learners, support the nursing process, and collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to provide high-quality care. CRNS registration is required or eligible.

Qualifications

• 3 years experience as an RN in an emergency or critical care environment
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) required
• ACLS and BLS certifications required; nursing diploma acceptable
• CRNS registration or eligibility

Responsibilities

• Be a highly visible and responsive member of the Code Blue/Outreach team
• Stabilize and provide nursing care and monitoring until patient transfer
• Mentor patients, nursing staff and learners while embodying SHA philosophy and standards

Job Description

The Clinical Support Nurse is a highly visible and responsive member of the site-wide Code Blue/Outreach team who will assist in providing the critical care interventions required to manage patients with deteriorating conditions ranging from uncomplicated to highly complex. This position will support the stabilization and provide nursing care and monitoring until the patient is received into the appropriate care location. The incumbent also acts a mentor to patients, nursing staff and/or preceptor to learners while demonstrating a caring approach, and understanding of the nursing process, a conceptual model of practice, and the philosophy, objectives and standards of the SHA.

Experience
