Job summary

Autism Services in Saskatoon is seeking a part-time Registered Nurse to join the Clinical Support Nursing team. The role focuses on critical care interventions, stabilization, and monitoring for patients with evolving conditions, until transfer to appropriate units. You will mentor learners and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team.

Minimum 3 years RN experience in emergency/critical care, BScN required; ACLS and BLS certificates preferred. Position is 0.79 FTE with days, nights, weekends.

Qualifications

• 3 years experience as an RN in an emergency or critical care environment.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) is required.
• ACLS and BLS certifications are required/ desirable.
• Nursing diploma is acceptable in lieu of a degree.

Responsibilities

• Provide critical care interventions and monitoring for deteriorating patients until transfer.
• Mentor patients, nursing staff, and/or learners while demonstrating nursing process and standards.

Job Description: The Clinical Support Nurse is a highly visible and responsive member of the site-wide Code Blue/Outreach team who will assist in providing the critical care interventions required to manage patients with deteriorating conditions ranging from uncomplicated to highly complex. This position will support the stabilization and provide nursing care and monitoring until the patient is received into the appropriate care location. The incumbent also acts a mentor to patients, nursing staff and/or preceptor to learners while demonstrating a caring approach, and understanding of the nursing process, a conceptual model of practice, and the philosophy, objectives and standards of the SHA.
