Job summary

ParaMed in North Bay, Ontario seeks an experienced Clinical Supervisor - RN to lead and mentor a community nursing team. You will supervise nursing practices, ensure compliance with standards, and collaborate with staff and patients to deliver high-quality home health care.

The role emphasizes leadership, clinical documentation, and patient safety, with a focus on developing therapeutic relationships and advancing complex clinical skills in a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• Current RN registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a practicing Registered Nurse.
• Comprehensive patient health assessment skills.
• Understanding of community nursing practice.
• Proven leadership experience.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Vulnerable Sector Screening (VSS) required.
• CNA Certification as a Community Health Nurse (asset).

Responsibilities

• Supervise and support nurses to ensure practices comply with legislated standards and company policies.
• Respond to and advise/resolve concerns from staff, patients, families, and other team members.
• Provide ongoing leadership through regular huddles, face-to-face meetings and one-on-ones.
• Initiate patient safety incident investigations and document actions.
• Support clinical documentation and submission requirements according to funder reporting guidelines.
• Engage patients in problem solving, offering health teaching and building rapport.
• Engage staff in problem solving, offering education, coaching, and mentoring.
• Maintain knowledge to provide safe, efficient service and stay current with practice changes.
