OVERALL RESPONSIBILITIES
The Clinical Supervisor, Autism Services – Urgent Response Services, provides oversight to a team working directly with families, children, and youth diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder. They oversee parent training and stabilization-based services, supervise ABA-based services, and aim to improve child and family quality of life, preparing clients for community participation. Services are delivered at the center, client’s home, or other community settings on a one-to-one basis. The Urgent Response Services (URS) is a new, time-limited service within the OAP, designed for rapid response to prevent escalation or harm.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Identify, develop, and supervise evidence-based behavioral programming aligned with individualized goals.
- Conduct functional behavior assessments following a bio-psycho-social model to establish treatment plans with families.
- Design and ensure ethical implementation of evidence-based interventions in line with Behavior Plans.
- Evaluate and modify programs as needed, signing off on plans and forms.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams for joint service planning and review.
- Train clinical team using the Behavior Skills Training Model for high-fidelity intervention implementation.
- Supervise and coach clinical team, supporting clients and families; provide direct services when necessary.
- Mentor students pursuing education requirements.
- Provide family training through mediator model training, coaching, and education sessions.
- Document and create Behavior Plans, summaries, and programs; supervise adherence to standards and policies.
- Recruit, hire, orient, review, and evaluate staff; ensure qualifications and skills meet requirements.
- Maintain professional standards, legislative compliance, and organizational policies.
- Build effective, committed teams emphasizing continuous learning and quality improvement.
- Manage human resources issues in coordination with the Director and HR, including accommodations and disciplinary actions.
- Handle administrative tasks such as approving timesheets, vacation requests, and monitoring attendance.
- Communicate organizational goals and organize team work to meet objectives.
- Monitor work completion, provide feedback, and resolve employee issues.
- Prepare service statistics for reporting; coordinate with Autism Services Intake for recommendations.
- Manage financial expenditures within parameters.
- Review and submit incident reports to ensure safety.
- Support administrative functions and provide on-call support outside regular hours.
- Supervise adherence to safety policies, ensure staff are trained and equipped for safe work practices, and report incidents.
- Conduct monthly safety walks and other safety-related duties.
- EDUCATION AND ACCREDITATION
- Master’s in ABA, Psychology, or related field; BCBA certification; registration with College of Psychologists and Behaviour Analysts of Ontario (from July 1, 2024).
- At least 4 years of experience in ABA services; 1 year supervisory experience is an asset.
- KNOWLEDGE
- Clinical expertise in ABA for Autism Spectrum Disorder and other populations; understanding of evidence-based strategies.
- Organizational navigation, team leadership, knowledge of ethical standards, and community served.
- Proficiency in data management technology and human resource management; bilingualism is an asset.
- WORKING CONDITIONS
- Hybrid environment with remote and in-person work; travel to various locations as needed.
- HOURS OF WORK
- Variable schedule, including evenings and weekends; on-call support rotation.
