Reporting to the Director of Clinical Services, this position provides advice and expertise to ensure that the Diagnostic Imaging and Laboratory (DI and Lab) business plan goals and objectives are achieved. A key focus will be the effective, high-quality, and safe delivery of DI and Lab across the patient journey in Alberta’s health system.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert advice on governmental Lab projects and collaborate with team members on program development and operational policies.
  • Promote public safety by helping to develop provincial policy to support minimum legislated standards.
  • Provide knowledge and technical advice for the Executive Director (ED) and Director in response to requests from various stakeholders.
  • Conduct literature reviews and jurisdictional scans to stay current on DI and Lab issues.
  • Interpret and explain current legislation to stakeholders.
Role Responsibilities Contd.
  • Identify, evaluate, and support innovative DI and Lab strategies.
  • Maintain DI and Lab reporting of key metrics.
  • Meet with stakeholders to assist in program development from a ministry perspective.
  • Draft briefing notes, letters, and other communications.
  • Review, update, and develop administrative forms and manuals.

Qualifications

University degree in a related field (Nursing, Medical, Reg. Health Provider Med Lab Science/DI education) plus 4 years of experience.

Skills:

  • Experience in leadership roles.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong critical analysis and conflict resolution skills.

Additional:

- Registered healthcare provider with 3-5 years of management and leadership responsibilities.
- Minimum of Bachelor's degree required; Master's level training preferred.
