Position Overview

Under the supervision of and in collaboration with the Manager of Health Services, the Clinical Resource Nurse (CRN) provides clinical expertise to nurses. The CRN leads in coordinating patient care within the healthcare team to ensure quality outcomes and promotes an interdisciplinary, patient-centered approach based on best practices. The CRN also provides direct patient care, fulfilling responsibilities similar to those of a General Duty Registered Nurse.

Experience
  • Minimum three years of recent related nursing experience; specific recent experience may be required in designated areas.
Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)
  • Graduate of an approved Registered Nursing program is required.
  • Bachelor of Nursing preferred.
  • Completion of relevant post-basic programs may be required or preferred in designated areas.
Certification/Licensure/Registration
  • Maintain active registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba (CRNM).
  • Participation in professional associations such as ARNM is preferred.
  • CPR training must meet employer policy requirements.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Knowledge of CRNM Standards of Practice, CNA Code of Ethics, and relevant legislation.
  • Understanding of policies, procedures, and protocols relevant to the clinical area.
  • Proficiency with computers and software applications.
  • Effective communication, organizational, critical thinking, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to prioritize, delegate, respond to multiple demands, and adapt to changing situations.
Physical Requirements
  • Physical and mental health to perform job duties.
  • Moderate to heavy physical effort required.
  • Flexible hours including evenings, nights, or weekends as needed.

This position requires a current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check, and Adult Abuse Registry Check. The successful candidate will be responsible for any service charges incurred. Checks must be recent (no more than six months old).
