Job summary

Prairie Mountain Health seeks a Clinical Resource Nurse/Charge Nurse to provide clinical leadership and daily supervision to nurses within the healthcare team in Manitoba.

You will coordinate patient care, mentor staff, ensure compliance with standards, and support discharge planning in a dynamic, patient-centered environment. A valid LPN license and BCLS are required, with leadership experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved Licensed Practical Nursing education program required.
• Current registration in good standing with CLPNM.
• Minimum three years within the past 5 years recent related nursing experience and demonstrated strong leadership skills.
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Training as delineated in Prairie Mountain Health Policy.

Responsibilities

• Co-ordinates patient/resident care activities with the health care team in a prioritized and planned approach to achieve pre-established patient/resident care outcomes.
• Provides direct nursing care to patients/residents and families as necessary.
• Makes patient/resident care judgments with other members of the care team by assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating care, as evidenced in documented nursing care plans.
• Provides support and feedback to the care team in the implementation of individualized nursing care.
• Maintains current knowledge of patient/resident status within the unit/clinical area; notifies appropriate personnel of any significant unusual situations.
• Assists in the effective and efficient provision of staff resources to meet patient/resident needs in the unit/clinical area i.e. day to day shift assignments.
• Assists in the achievement and maintenance of nursing standards for professional nursing staff in accordance with overall professional and facility/regional standards.
• In collaboration with the service team, identifies and recommends actions that will improve functioning of the unit/clinical area.
• Promotes and maintains a positive working climate within the unit/clinical area.
• Coordinates specific components of a clinical program as applicable i.e. patient and family conferencing, discharge planning, medication reviews etc.
