Job Description
The Clinical Investigation Unit (CIU) is an outpatient clinic seeking a Clinical Research Specialist to support its patient-facing research operations. Located on the General Campus of The Ottawa Hospital, the CIU is a 12-bed clinical research facility specializing in the execution of procedurally complex clinical and pharmacokinetic studies across all phases of drug development trials, from Phase I to Phase IV. The Clinical Research Specialist, reporting to the CIU’s Program Manager, will coordinate assigned clinical studies and provide clinical nursing care to patients enrolled in research protocols. This role involves collaborating with the study team to implement protocol-specific procedures from screening to study completion, as well as providing ongoing education to research participants and ancillary departments to ensure compliance with study protocols. The specialist will also assess adverse events and use their knowledge, skills, and judgment to determine dose-limiting toxicity, maximum tolerated dose, and disease response in collaboration with the Principal Investigators.

The position requires on-site work at The Ottawa Hospital's General Campus from Monday to Friday during standard daytime hours, with occasional extension into the early evening, which will be determined in consultation with the incumbent and the CIU’s Program Manager. This is a full-time position with full extended benefits and pension, subject to available funding, satisfactory performance reviews, and compliance with all relevant Institute policies.
Salary : Min : $45.197 / hr. - Max $60.263 / hr.
