The MS MRI group within the Division of Neurology in the Department of Medicine is seeking a full time Clinical Research Coordinator to be involved with several active research projects involving patients with Multiple Sclerosis.
The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and submitting research ethics applications, creating and organizing study documents, and performing study procedures. They will also contact patients, explain the goals and details of ongoing research projects, and obtain consent for participant enrollment. Additionally, they will ensure that samples and data are properly collected and stored.
The Clinical Research Coordinator will report to the Principal Investigator (PI) and Translational Research Manager. The coordinator will also interact with members of the MS MRI group including neurologists, physicists, fellows, research assistants and graduate students. Once trained, the coordinator will work independently on assigned tasks, while decision-making will be done in consultation with the PI and Translational Research Manager. Additionally, the coordinator will have contact with internal and external collaborators and ethics boards.
The individual will need to exercise independent judgment and feel comfortable working with a diverse team. Exercising poor judgment and lack of appropriate consultation with other team members can compromise the trust of research participants, the results of research projects and may lead to concerns about research credibility. Poor decisions may be damaging to the reputation of and cause financial loss to the Principal Investigator, MS MRI group, and the University.
The coordinator will report to the PI and Translational Research Manager.
The coordinator may provide supervision and guidance to research assistants and graduate students.
