First Nations Health Authority is seeking a Clinical Nurse Advisor, TB to support TB programs across First Nations communities in BC. You will provide clinical consultation, case management, and public health nursing services aligned with national guidelines.

Ideal candidates bring nursing registration in BC, CPR certification, and TB programming experience, with a commitment to holistic, culturally grounded care and community engagement.

Title: Clinical Nurse Advisor, TB

Salary: $97,833 - $122,817 per year (pay range explained below)

Contract: Permanent .6 FTE

Hours: 22.5 hrs./wk. Monday- Thursday/Tuesday - Friday(core hours 9am-3pm Mon-Fri)

Location: Alberni Office- Metro Vancouver, located on the unceded and ancestral territory of the (Musqueam), (Squamish), and (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations (Hybrid working is an option in line with FNHA's flex work policy).

About The Role

Supporting First Nations people living on reserve, brings expertise in TB clinical consultation, case management, and public health nursing, including screening, surveillance, treatment planning, contact tracing, Directly Observed Therapy (DOT), and follow-up for active and latent TB in alignment with current clinical guidelines and public health practices. Applies a wholistic and culturally grounded approach that honours First Nations worldviews, traditions, and healing practices while delivering culturally safe care. Proven ability to build trusted relationships with Community Health Nurses, health teams, and community partners through education, mentorship, training, and clinical consultation. Recognized for strong critical thinking, independent clinical judgment, and the ability to coordinate TB programs, support nursing education initiatives, develop practice guidelines, and serve as a key resource for the treatment, prevention, control, and epidemiology of tuberculosis within First Nations communities.

About You

To be successful in this role you will have;

Education

• Bachelor of Nursing with a community health component plus two (2) years of experience in community TB health programming and experience working with First Nations people, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Occupational Certification

• Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Certification.
• Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).

Experience

• Experience with data base entry systems an asset

Knowledge

• Knowledge of, and ability to apply, an understanding of First Nations cultural principles and protocols in work situations.
• Knowledge of the cultural traditions and practices in client First Nations communities
• Knowledge of traditional, alternative, complementary, and other recognized healing practices.
