Job summary

Stonehenge Therapeutic Community is seeking a Clinical Manager – Supportive Housing to provide clinical direction and oversight for two housing programs. The role leads program planning, staff development and partner relationships to enhance housing, support coordination and counselling services.

The ideal candidate will have a social services degree, 3+ years of clinical experience in addiction/mental health, and current registration with a professional college.

  • Completion of a BSW, MSW or other university degree relevant to mental health, addiction or Social Services.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ direct clinical work with individuals experiencing addiction and concurrent mental health issues.
  • Registration with a professional college (OCSWSSW or CRPO) required.
  • Strong knowledge of addictions theory and trauma-informed practices.

Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical direction and supervision to staff in two housing programs.
  • Lead program planning, recruitment support and staff development.
  • Coordinate partnership work with community agencies and funders.
  • Maintain quality assurance through audits and reporting.
  • Manage on-call rotations and support crisis situations as needed.

Job description

Stonehenge Therapeutic Community provides a range of residential and community-based treatment services to individuals struggling with problematic substance use and concurrent mental health issues. About the Role:

As a member of the Clinical Leadership Team, the Clinical Manager – Supportive Housing is accountable for providing clinical direction, leadership and oversight of staff working within two distinct Housing Support programs.

The Supportive Addiction and Mental Health Housing (SAMH) program supports individuals living in the community who are dealing with significant substance use issues as well as other complexities to enhance their quality of life through the provision of support to housing, support coordination, advocacy, and counselling. Staff in this program support clients engaging in transitional housing programs, as well as clients with ongoing support needs.

The Permanent Supportive Housing (PSH) programprovides a long-term, affordable housing solution with flexible and voluntary support services offered to support high-acuity individuals who are homeless with housing retention and independent living.

In this role, the Clinical Manager will be responsible for program planning, programming, recruitment support, and direct supervision of staff. In addition to demonstrating strong clinical skills and professional judgment, our ideal candidate will have experience in developing high performing staff teams.

Role Type: Full Time, Permanent (1 vacancy)

Hours of Work:

  • Monday to Friday (days)
  • Participation in a mandatory clinical "on call" rotation is also required, as a shared responsibility of the Clinical Leadership team, and requires weekend or evening work on a rotational/occasional basis

Qualifications:
  • Completion of a BSW, MSW or other University Degree relevant to mental health, addiction or Social Services
  • Minimum of 3 years’ direct clinical work with individuals experiencing addiction and concurrent mental health issues required
  • Registration with a professional college (i.e. OCSWSSW or CRPO) required
  • Experience providing clinical supervision and team leadership an asset
  • Experience with inter-agency partnerships / multi-disciplinary teams an asset
  • Strong knowledge of addictions theory and practice, withdrawal management, harm reduction, and current best practices – particularly concurrent and trauma-informed
  • Lived experience related to addictions and/or mental health an asset
  • Valid G Driver’s License (G2 or G) and Satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record
  • CSC Clearance conducted by PWGS Canada
  • Standard First Aid/CPR Level C
  • Flexible schedule as required to support program delivery
  • Own transportation and reliable vehicle required - programs are delivered within Guelph-Wellington (Rural wellington) and Waterloo-Wellington, and flexibility to travel within these regions is required
  • Must be able to attend work (travel to 24-7/Continuous Care Centres) within an hour of notification, when on call
Role Responsibilities:

Clinical Oversight and Management:

  • Clinical and administrative supervision to program staff, and supervisors leading program staff
  • Support professional development of clinical staff through coaching, feedback and mentoring
  • Guide clinical decision-making and the management of high-risk situations
  • Provide on call support and crisis supervision on off hours, on a rotational basis, as required
  • Build and maintain high performance teams

Partnership and Funder Relations:

  • Build strong relationships with all community partners and attend related meetings
  • Work alongside the Leadership Team to support program development and improvement
  • Provide orientation, training, and workshops regarding addiction-related topics both internally and externally on behalf of the organization
  • Collaborate with STC’s community partners through joint operation and management of shared programs

Administrative:

  • Conduct recruitment, performance management, discipline, and termination as required
  • Complete regular clinical file audits and maintain thorough and accurate supervision notes and files
  • Participate in quality assurance processes such as accreditation and the implementation of community program outcome measurement tools and reporting of results (i.e. client satisfaction surveys, retention results, etc.)
  • Sign off electronic payroll, approve vacation requests and expense claims
  • Perform other duties as required
