Job summary

Northern Health is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist to lead professional practice and clinical learning initiatives. This role focuses on planning, delivering, and evaluating staff training to ensure competency across sites within the Northern Health system.

You will develop and maintain orientation programs, support preceptorship efforts, and participate in updates to care standards and procedures, including coordinating in-service sessions.

Qualifications

• RRT registration in good standing.
• Experience designing and delivering staff education.

Responsibilities

• Identify, plan, compile, and deliver training for staff to meet key competencies.
• Compile, implement and evaluate orientation and education programs.
• Facilitate development and maintenance of preceptorship/mentorship programs.
• Review and revise patient care standards, policies and procedures; coordinate in-service programs.
• Travel to Northern Health sites as required.

We currently have an opportunity for you to bring your excellent work ethic to our Professional Practice and Clinical Learning department.

In accordance with the established mission, vision, values, and strategic priorities of Northern Health, and under the general supervision of Regional Director, Professional Practice and Clinical Learning or designate, this position is responsible for identifying, planning, compiling, and delivering training sessions for staff to assist them in meeting their key competencies in compliance with scope. Compiles, implements, and evaluates general and unit specific orientation and education programs. Facilitates the development and ongoing maintenance of the department’s preceptorship/mentorship programs. Participates in the on-going review and revision of patient care standards, policies and procedures, and coordinates in-service programs aimed at meeting the continuing educational needs of staff. Travels to various sites within Northern Health as required.

Shift Rotation/Hours of work: Monday to Friday, 08:00 to 16:00
