Job summary

Humber College in Ontario is seeking a Clinical Education Resource Manager to oversee quality in nursing practicum, lab and simulation experiences across multiple sites. The role includes coaching clinical teachers, lab teachers and pregrad advisors, and coordinating assignments in clinical practice groups and pregrad roles.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure quality of clinical practicum, lab and simulation experiences in nursing programs.
  • Coach clinical teachers, lab teachers, and pregrad advisors.
  • Assign staff to clinical practice groups and pregrad advisor roles.
  • Investigate challenges related to placements and develop proactive strategies.
  • Develop partnerships with external partners and projects related to clinical education.

Job Details

Position Title: Clinical Education Resource Manager

Status: Full-time Admin

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Faculty/Department: Faculty of Health & Life Sciences

Campus/Location: North Campus, Humber Heights Campus and travel to work integrated learning placement sites

Minimum Starting Salary: $97,491; starting salaries are determined based on qualifications and years of related experience.

About The Clinical Education Resource Manager Position

The Clinical Education Resource Manager ensures quality of clinical practicum and lab and simulation experiences in the School of Nursing programs. The position supports excellence and scholarly teaching in clinical practicum and lab and simulation education as well as pregrad advising. The position provides coaching for clinical teachers, lab teachers and pregrad advisors in their work with School of Nursing students in the both the clinical practice and lab settings. The incumbent fosters the retention of these teachers and facilitates the student-teacher - placement fit. Working with the Dean, Associate Dean, and WIL Operations Manager – School of Nursing the incumbent assigns these employees to clinical practice groups, lab and simulation groups and pregrad advisor roles in preceptored student placements.

The Clinical Education Resource Manager investigates challenges/issues/complaints from placement settings, students and/or clinical teachers and Nursing Lab Specialists and identifies causative factors and proactive strategies to address the issues. Implementing effective communication strategies with the faculty while linking full time faculty and clinical teachers is a key part of the role. Working with the Dean and Associate Dean – School of Nursing, and the full time Clinical Education Resource Manager, the incumbent will help in developing and supporting partnerships with our external partners, and projects related to clinical education as assigned.

Minimum Salary: 97,491.00

Maximum Salary: 117,563.00

Education
  • The successful candidate will possess a Graduate Degree in Nursing and will be registered with the Ontario College of Nursing
  • CASN Canadian Certified Clinical Instructor (CCCI) designation is desired
Experience/Skills
  • The incumbent will have a minimum of 5-years professional experience. Experience in multiple experiential learning settings and various organizational environments. Previous experience as a clinical and or Lab teacher in a post-secondary environment is required.
  • Experience in post-secondary education in the clinical practice environment.
  • Must have access to a vehicle to travel to multiple work integrated learning sites
  • Should possess exemplary nursing skills, excellent communication skills, interview skills, negotiation skills, presentation skills, performance review skills, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Advanced computer skills and Microsoft Office skills
