A leading health authority in Victoria seeks a dietitian to deliver medical nutritional therapy and manage patient care within hospitals and facilities. This role involves planning, counseling, and collaborating with healthcare teams to optimize nutritional support based on established guidelines and best practices. The dietitian reports to the Coordinator, Nutrition Services, and is responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating medical nutritional therapy for hospital-based and/or facility-based patients according to established guidelines. This includes managing nutrition care for patients receiving parenteral nutrition, instructing and counseling patients and families on nutritional requirements, regimes, and food planning, and providing recommendations to the medical team regarding nutrition support, such as enteral vs parenteral nutrition, composition, and supplementation based on current guidelines and best practices. The dietitian also contributes to the development of nutrition practice guidelines, procedures, research, and quality improvement initiatives.
