Job summary

Brockville General Hospital is seeking a Clinical Data Analyst in the Health Information Services department. The role focuses on timely extraction, analysis, and reporting of health data to support clinical and managerial decisions.

The position requires knowledge of CIHI databases, Cerner/HL7 interfaces, and advanced Excel/Power BI skills. It supports data-driven decision making and quality improvement across the organization.

Qualifications

• Current registration and certification with the Canadian College of Health Information Management (CCHIM).
• Active member in good standing of the Canadian Health Information Management Association (CHIMA).
• Demonstrated knowledge of CIHI databases (DAD, NACRS, OMHRS, NRS, CCRS).
• Familiarity with CIHI grouping methodologies (CMG, CACS, SCIPP, RUG, RPG) and Ontario QBPs.
• Experience with quality/utilization of clinical resources and evaluation in health care.
• Experience with Cerner HL7 interfacing or related systems is an asset.
• Strong Excel skills and experience creating dashboards/reports in Power BI is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Supports data-driven decision-making by extracting, analyzing, interpreting, and distributing statistical reports and dashboards using Power BI.
• Assesses data quality and collaborates with Health Records Manager and staff for continuous improvement.
• Develops routine and ad hoc reports to monitor resource utilization and KPIs for leadership.
• Promotes benchmarking and best practices to improve utilization and quality measurement.
• Collaborates with IT and clinical teams to optimize Cerner workflows for accurate data capture.
