Job Description

In accordance with the Vision, Purpose, and Values, and strategic direction of the Vancouver Island Health Authority, patient safety is a priority and a shared responsibility. Continuous quality and safety improvements are inherent in all aspects of this position.

Reporting to the Manager, the Clinical Coordinator manages the day-to-day operations of public health services. This role provides leadership to a multi-disciplinary team, coordinates daily clinical activities, and ensures effective resource utilization. The coordinator acts as a communication liaison among team members, healthcare professionals, and administrative personnel outside the unit. Responsibilities include supervising staff, providing leadership and coaching for professional development, developing policies and procedures, and contributing to operational planning. The role also involves leading quality and risk management initiatives within the unit.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing; Master's degree is an asset.
  • Registration with BC College of Nurses and Midwives as a practicing RN.
  • Five years of recent related experience, including at least two years in public health nursing and two years in a supervisory role.
  • Valid BC Driver's License.
