What is the Forensic Psychiatric Hospital?
The Forensic Psychiatric Hospital (FPH) is a 190-bed secure facility in Coquitlam, on the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territory of the kwikwəƛ̓əm First Nation (Kwikwetlem). We treat individuals found not criminally responsible or unfit to stand trial due to mental health disorders. We deliver services through the “Clinical Program Model,” ensuring high-quality, specialized care tailored to patient needs, aligned with current best practices.
What you’ll do
RNs / RPNs are essential members of the FPH team, working to transform forensic mental health services by implementing leading practices. As part of BC Mental Health & Substance Use Services, the FPH is a world leader in psychiatric care, operating within a multi-site health organization. Nurses collaborate with psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to provide hospital and community-based services for adults with mental illness involved with the law.
