Job summary

Sobeys is seeking an Environment and Carbon Reduction Specialist to join its Real Estate division in Canada. Based in Dartmouth, NS, with possible Montreal, QC collaboration, the role centers on coordinating environmental remediation and climate action projects across Sobeys properties.

The role supports Sobeys’ 2030 climate plan, reporting to the Board and ensuring timely, on-budget project delivery. Strong bilingual (Eng/Fr) communication and sustainability expertise are highly valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or technical degree in science, sustainability, environmental sciences, engineering, or commerce.
• 3–5 years related experience in environmental management focusing on contaminated site regulations, project coordination, sustainability or energy management.

Responsibilities

• Environmental remediation and project management for Sobeys property portfolio.
• Prepare quarterly environmental reports for the Board of Directors.
• Support the 2030 climate action strategy with project implementation and reporting.
• Ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
• Create and manage purchase orders, change orders, and invoicing.
• Source and procure site-specific equipment for the program.
• Investigate new/emerging emissions-reducing technologies for Sobeys stores.
