Job description

The hourly wage rate for this position is $22. Final compensation will be determined based on relevant skills, experience, qualifications, and internal equity. Key Responsibilities
  • Provide warm, polished and discreet five-star service to executives, high-profile clients and guests.
  • Anticipate guest and client needs and respond proactively before being asked, while remaining professional and unobtrusive.
  • Read and interpret floor plans, event orders and setup instructions accurately.
  • Set meeting rooms, boardrooms, dining tables and event spaces according to approved floor plans and service standards.
  • Complete table settings to a premium standard, including linen, glassware, flatware, china, water service and other required service pieces.
  • Confirm room setup, cleanliness, presentation and readiness before guest arrival; immediately report or correct discrepancies.
  • Assemble and deliver food, beverages, equipment and supplies to scheduled locations safely and on time.
  • Assist with food, beverage, buffet and table preparation before events begin.
  • Arrange buffet and beverage stations according to established presentation and service standards.
  • Deliver professional plated, buffet, reception, coffee and beverage service and respond promptly to guest requests.
  • Maintain strong knowledge of menus, ingredients, beverages and products being served so guest questions can be answered confidently.
  • Monitor meeting rooms and service areas throughout events and discreetly replenish water, coffee, beverages and service items as required.
  • Maintain North Tower pantries in a clean, organized, fully stocked and guest-ready condition throughout the shift.
  • Keep pantry counters, sinks, refrigerators, shelving and storage areas clear of clutter, dirty dishes, cardboard and unnecessary equipment.
  • Ensure service corridors, staging areas, display equipment and back-of-house spaces remain clean, organized and free of debris.
  • Complete event closeout, including clearing rooms, returning equipment and supplies, food storage, cleaning and resetting spaces for the next function.
  • Log and maintain food temperatures as required and follow all food safety, sanitation and workplace safety procedures.
  • Communicate professionally with clients, colleagues, culinary, events, AV, facilities and leadership to support seamless execution.
  • Protect guest privacy and confidentiality and demonstrate discretion when serving executive and high-profile meetings.

  • Maintain excellent grooming, uniform and professional body language at all times.
  • Acknowledge guests promptly and use confident, courteous and appropriate language.
  • Remain attentive to the room and recognize service cues without interrupting meetings or conversations.
  • Take ownership of guest requests and follow through until the request is resolved.
  • Demonstrate attention to detail in every touchpoint, from room presentation and table alignment to beverage replenishment and clearing.
  • Remain calm, composed and solutions-focused during last-minute changes, high-volume periods and VIP events.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in catering, premium hospitality, fine dining, hotel, executive dining or a similar service environment.
  • Valid Food Handler Certificate or provincial equivalent and Responsible Beverage Service Certificate as required.
  • Ability to accurately read event orders, floor plans and room setup instructions.
  • Strong table-setting, room-setup and food-and-beverage service skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and the confidence to interact professionally with senior executives and high-profile clients.
  • Highly organized, efficient and able to multitask while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.
  • Strong situational awareness with the ability to anticipate needs and deliver proactive service.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure in a fast-paced and frequently changing environment.
  • Physical ability to perform the duties of the position, including room setups and movement of service equipment.
