A healthcare service provider is seeking a Client Care Assistant for the Lethbridge Youth Treatment Center. In this role, you will provide supportive care to youth dealing with addictions, ensuring their safety and promoting their participation in daily activities. Applicants should have completed Grade 12 and hold Basic Cardiac Life Support certification. Ideal candidates will have experience in a care setting, including working with youth or individuals with addictions. This full-time position requires evening, night, and weekend shifts.
This is an opportunity to join the dynamic, multi-disciplinary team at the Lethbridge Youth Treatment Center. This site is located on the North Side of Lethbridge overlooking the scenic river valley. The program provides a range of evidence-based, concurrent services in a bed-based treatment setting. We provide treatment for youth ages 12-17 with substance use disorder and co-occurring mental illness. Youth may remain in the program for up to 12 weeks. During this time, they receive individual and group counselling, participate in experiential, recreational, and community-based activities, and can attend school. The Client Care Assistant’s role is to facilitate non-clinical elements of programming and provide client care and support. In addition, they would be expected to perform tasks that enable day-to-day operations, including light housekeeping, inventory, order, etc. They would also be expected to forge supportive relationships with the youth so they can ensure care, supervision and safety for clients while in program.
As a Client Care Assistant, you will work as a team member with all staff assisting in the provision of supportive care to clients with addictions. Your primary duties include providing supportive care to clients, ensuring a safe and secure facility, responding to client requests, communicating effectively with other staff and contributing to a therapeutic environment through interaction with clients. As part of an interprofessional team, you will contribute to the delivery of residential services to persons with an addiction promoting client respect, autonomy, health and improved quality of life. You will support clients to participate in activities of daily living, recreational and social activities, and educational and employment activities. You will also work collaboratively with other health and service providers to maintain a safe and supportive environment.
Completion of Grade 12. Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
As Required.
One year experience providing care to Youth in a bed-based care setting. One year experience providing care to individuals with addictions. Class IV license.
