The Engineering, Parks & Environment Department is looking for a temporary full-time Clerk Typist 3 to join their team for approximately two (2) years.
Responsibilities
You will provide administrative and support services for the City’s Engineering, Parks & Environment Department, including preparing an electronic agenda and information package for Council on a weekly basis; draft correspondence; complete the administrative tasks required following Council meetings; provide administrative assistance to recruit new members to City committees; file documents electronically and hard copy; order office supplies; and assist with general office duties within the department.
Requirements
You will have a wide range of office experience and excellent administrative and communication skills. A high level of accuracy and attention to detail is required. You must be able to work with considerable independence and be part of a small Clerk’s team. You must be comfortable interacting with a large number of contacts, including employees, members of the public and City officials. You will be proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook). Experience with an electronic records management system and Adobe Acrobat Pro would be assets.
Compensation
$29.48 to $34.63 per hour
(Pay Grade 15 – January 2024 rates)
Hours of Work
The City of North Vancouver currently works on a compressed work schedule of 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday to Friday, with one scheduled day off (Monday or Friday) approximately each three-week scheduling cycle.
Additional Information
For temporary full-time positions of 8 months or longer, a City employee who is successful on the posting will have the right to revert to their former position.
