Job description

The Engineering, Parks & Environment Department is looking for an auxiliary Clerk Typist 2 to join their team.

Responsibilities

In this position, you will provide customer service and clerical support assisting with a range of administration tasks including answering emails and calls from the public, completing data entry and electronic filing, and processing a variety of paperwork including service requests and permits working with an electronic database.

Requirements

The successful candidate will need general office experience, a minimum keyboarding speed of 50 wpm net, a demonstrated ability in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint) and the ability to meet deadlines. Strong interpersonal skills are important for this role, as is attention to detail, a high degree of accuracy, and the ability to deal effectively with City staff and the public. Experience working with an electronic records management system would also be an asset.

Compensation

$27.30 + 12% in lieu of benefits

(Pay Grade 13 – January 2024 rates)

Hours of Work

Auxiliary – Hours will vary between 22.5 to 37.5 hours.

Additional Information

Shortlisted candidates may be required to complete standardized tests or exercises to demonstrate their applicable skills and knowledge.
