Duties:
Within the department of Families, the Clerk is responsible for the processing of financial and administrative documents pertaining to the various programs within Families Northern Region’s operations. The incumbent is required to understand and follow the policies and procedures of the Government of Manitoba to ensure fiscal and administrative responsibility within the programs and operations of the office. The incumbent also performs switchboard and reception duties as well as maintaining office filing system and other general clerical office duties in support of the region and staff.
Within the department of Consumer Protection & Government Services, the Clerk reports to the District Finance & Administration Officer and is responsible to provide accounting functions, clerical and administration support to District 4 from the district office in The Pas. District 4 includes properties in the vast northern part of the Province from Swan River to Leaf Rapids. The existing roles and responsibilities in the SAP account system are Accounts Payable, Requisitioning, Timekeeping, Program Accounting, Financial Reporting and Receiving in an accurate, timely manner meeting all the Department’s Standards and Policies.
Within the department of Housing, Addictions and Homelessness, the Clerk is responsible for providing day-to-day administrative and general clerical services in order to ensure effective and efficient office operations. The Clerk will utilize established policies and procedures to complete their tasks. Responsibilities include: typing documents, receiving and verifying invoices, processing and monitoring payments and expenditures, collecting money and issuing receipts, verifying that transactions comply with Manitoba Housing policies and procedures, data entry of financial information into spreadsheets, tenant application intake, preparing reports, maintaining filing systems, greeting and assisting visitors, answering phones, directing calls and responding to inquiries.
