Job summary

Canadian Blood Services is seeking a Regular part-time Clerk to join our Collections team in MB-Winnipeg-William Ave. The role supports administrative activities within the Supply Chain team, ensuring compliance with regulations and good practices.

On-site presence is 40% with potential for additional on-site work based on business needs. Shifts are 0700-1330, Monday to Friday. Starting rate is CAD 23.25 per hour.

Qualifications

  • Secondary school graduation is required.
  • At least two years of recent related office or administrative experience.
  • Proficiency with Windows and M365 apps (Word, Excel, SharePoint, Outlook).
  • Strong written and verbal English communication.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain competency and signature lists; manage controlled documents.
  • Coordinate employee documentation, filing and training activities.
  • Assist with reports and training registrations in the LMS.
  • Pack, ship and receive documents for offsite storage.
  • Provide support for Supply Chain and related duties.

About the role

Canadian Blood Services is looking for a Regular part-time Clerk to join our dynamic Collections team in MB-Winnipeg-William Ave.

The Collections team is responsible for supporting Canadian Blood Services by collecting donor blood in a safe manner to enable safe products which save lives every day. In this role, In this role, you will be responsible for administrative support to all program activities within the Supply Chain Team. You will support in accordance with all regulations, standards and good manufacturing practices.

  • Maintains and distributes competency lists and signature lists.
  • Responsible for ordering, receiving, printing, and rescinding controlled documents from applicable department work instruction binders, and responsible for managing controlled document implementations, working with department staff and trainers to ensure work instruction binders are up to date.
  • Coordinates new and existing employee documentation, filing and training activities.
  • Assists with obtaining reports and registering staff for employee training in the learning management system.
  • Responsible for packing, shipping and receiving documents for offsite storage.
  • Provide support for Supply Chain departments and other related duties as required.
Desired education and skills
  • Completion of a secondary school program.
  • Minimum of two years of recent related office or administrative experience.
  • Proficiency in the use of personal computers within a Windows operating system. Intermediate skill level required, using M365 applications such as Microsoft Word,
  • Excel, Sharepoint and Outlook software.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, being able to exercise sound judgment, tact and discretion when dealing with others.
  • Strong communications skills, both verbal and written, in English are required.
  • Ability to develop and maintain professional working relationships within a team environment as well as with departmental staff, management, volunteers and customers.
  • Excellent customer service skills are critical, including effective listening skills and the ability to respond effectively.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, being able to manage multiple tasks and competing priorities within short timelines.
  • Exceptionally strong attention to detail in all aspects of work.

What you can expect
  • This role will work in a hybrid environment with requirements to be onsite at Canadian Blood Services location 40% of the time/days of the week. This role works at 777 William Ave, Winnipeg MB.
  • Physical requirements for the role include the ability to lift weights up to 10 kg (22 lbs.).
  • Shifts are Monday to Friday 0700 - 1330.
