Humber River Health in Toronto is seeking a Clerical Support Associate to join the Operating Room team. This permanent part-time role requires day, evening, and weekend availability with an hourly rate of CAD 29.966–31.016.

The position focuses on patient registration and discharge, records maintenance, scheduling, and administrative duties. Strong keyboarding, MS Office, and customer service are essential; MEDITECH experience is a plus.

Qualifications

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Community College Medical Secretary Diploma is an asset.
  • Medical terminology course is preferred.
  • Minimum 1 year clerical experience.
  • Typing speed at least 40 WPM.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, both oral and written.
  • MEDITECH experience an asset.
  • Strong organization and problem solving under deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently in a team.
  • Second language knowledge is an asset.
  • Excellent attendance and discipline-free record.

Responsibilities

  • Clerical support including patient registration and discharge, maintenance of patient records, order entry and statistics.
  • Customer service: scheduling appointments, updating/creating schedules in CWS, answering inquiries, greeting patients and visitors.
  • Clerical support for program duties: room bookings, minutes for meetings, stocking/ordering supplies, OTN.
  • Communicates with other departments and service areas.

Employment Status: Permanent Part TimeHours of Work: Must be available for day shifts (7 am - 3 pm and/or 8:30 am - 4:30 pm), evenings (2 pm - 10 pm) and/or weekends; subject to change as per Article 3 - Management Rights.Location: Humber River Health, Willson SiteLabour Group: Teamsters ClericalReporting Relationship: Manager, Operating RoomHourly Rate: $29.966 - $31.016

Position Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for clerical support including patient registration and discharge, maintenance of patient records, order entry and statistics.
  • Responsible for customer service including scheduling appointments, updating/creation of schedules in CWS, answering patient inquiries, telephone inquiries, greeting patients and visitors in a courteous manner.
  • Provides clerical support for program duties such as, room bookings, development of agenda/minutes for meetings, stocking/ordering of supplies, OTN etc.
  • Communicates with other departments and service areas
Qualifcations:
  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Completion of a Community College Medical Secretary Diploma an asset.
  • Completion of a medical terminology course preferred.
  • Minimum 1 year full time equivalent recent clerical experience required.
  • Good keyboarding skills, with minimum typing speed of 40 WPM.
  • Computer proficiency including Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, both oral and written
  • MEDITECH computer experience an asset
  • Good organizational and problem solving skills required, including an ability to prioritize a varied and busy workload. Demonstrated ability to cope with tight deadlines, frequent interruptions and emergency situations
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a team environment
  • Knowledge of a second language an asset
  • Demonstrated customer service skills.
  • Applicants may be required to successfully complete full administrative testing, to include typing speed and MS Office.
  • Excellent attendance and discipline free record required.
