Overview

Responsible for maintaining cleanliness throughout the refinery and packaging areas, including returning scrap product to the raw materials shed. The cleaner position is entry-level, with a starting rate of $24.70/hour. After the probationary period, cleaners can bid into other manufacturing positions with a starting rate of $34.89/hour, depending on available roles.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness of packaging and process building floors and equipment.
• Remove dust from process areas.
• Clean both food contact and non-food contact equipment following specific procedures.
• Handle scrap sugar bags weighing up to 20 kg (40 kg with team lift).
• Operate powered hand trucks with full loads of sugar.
• Mop and operate floor washers for large areas.
• Follow GMP standards, Food Safety, and Health & Safety policies.
• Perform duties across multiple plant locations; undertake special assignments as needed.
• Report unsanitary practices to the Sanitation Supervisor.
• Maintain accurate sanitation records.
• Assist and train other associates as required.

Education Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent.

Physical Requirements

• Regular physical exertion, including lifting up to 20 kg.
• Ability to stand for extended periods, bend, stoop, kneel, reach, and climb stairs.

Work Environment

• Exposure to allergens and potentially wet or humid conditions.
• Possible exposure to high temperatures and noise; hearing protection required.
• Handling chemicals with PPE as necessary.
