Job summary

Bayshore HealthCare in Canada is seeking a Cleaner Bayshore to uphold the highest cleanliness and infection prevention standards. You will perform IPAC cleaning tasks, handle patient discharge areas, and ensure rooms meet Bayshore’s quality expectations across locations.

Requirements include at least 1 year of related experience, attention to detail, ability to lift 23 kg, and excellent English communication. Travel between local assignments is required.

  • Strong attention to detail and high standards of cleanliness.
  • Effective communication in English, both written and spoken.

Responsibilities

  • Perform IPAC compliant cleaning activities: sweeping, mopping, dusting, polishing, vacuuming.
  • Empty garbage, clean bathrooms, and complete cleaning after patient discharge.
  • Follow IPAC and Bayshore procedures for admission/discharge and isolation cleaning.
  • Ensure all rooms are cared for and inspected to high standards.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform and adhere to IPAC best practices for a variety of cleaning activities such as: Sweeping, mopping, dusting, polishing, vacuuming
  • Emptying garbage receptacles, cleaning bathrooms, and
  • Completing cleaning after patient discharge.
  • Follow IPAC and company procedures for admission room, discharge, and isolation and/or outbreak client room and unit cleaning.
  • Ensure all rooms are cared for and inspected according to our high standards.
  • Protect equipment and ensure there are no inadequacies.
  • Notify superiors of any damages, deficits, and disturbances.
  • Handle reasonable complaints/requests with professionalism and patience.
  • Check stocking levels of all consumables and replace when appropriate.
  • Strictly adhere to health and safety rules and be aware of any company-related practices.
  • Complete other duties as assigned.

Education:

Completion of secondary school diploma preferred and/or Home Support Programs as appropriate.

Experience & Skills:
  • At least 1 year of experience in a similar position or life experience. Ability to travel locally from assignment to assignment.
Qualities you possess:
  • Ability to work with little supervision and maintain a high level of performance
  • Customer-oriented and friendly; maintains Bayshore's exceptional reputation
  • Effective communication skills in written and spoken English
  • Prioritization and time management skills
  • Ability to work quickly without compromising quality or standards of service
  • Able to freely lift 23 kgs., stand, bend, squat, kneel and reach freely
