Job summary

Bayshore HealthCare, a leading home and community health care provider in Canada, seeks a Personal Caregiver to join its team. The role focuses on compassionate homemaking, personal care, and support for clients in their own homes.

Qualifications

  • Completion of formal, accredited caregiver training program or equivalent education/experience.
  • Strong knowledge of caregiving principles and customer service.
  • English communication required; French proficiency is an asset.
  • Provide high-quality care services to clients with current knowledge of community care practices.
  • Able to lift 23 kg, squat, bend, stand and reach.
  • Reliable transportation; driver's license an asset.
  • Clear Criminal background check with Vulnerable Sector Check.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive homemaking services, including cleaning, cooking, laundry, and general household management.
  • Offer companionship and accompany clients to community activities and events.
  • Administer personal care services in accordance with the care plan directives.
  • Ensure the emotional, spiritual, and physical comfort and safety of clients to the highest possible standard.
  • Assist clients with activities of daily living, tailored to meet their specific needs.
  • Perform specialized procedures for clients where training has been provided while demonstrating current competency.
  • Observe and document client conditions and report any changes to the Supervisor.
  • Implement and adhere to infection prevention practices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive homemaking services, including but not limited to cleaning, cooking, laundry, and general household management
  • Offer companionship and accompany clients to community activities and events
  • Administer personal care services in accordance with the care plan directives
  • Ensure the emotional, spiritual, and physical comfort and safety of clients to the highest possible standard
  • Assist clients with activities of daily living, tailored to meet their specific needs
  • Perform specialized procedures for clients where training has been provided while demonstrating current competency
  • Observe and document client conditions in line with company standards; promptly report any unusual events or changes in client condition to the Supervisor or Office
  • Implement and adhere to infection prevention practices

Requirements
  • Completion of formal, accredited caregiver training program and/or a combination of equivalent education and experience.
  • Strong knowledge of the principles of caregiving as well as well as customer service.
  • Able to communicate effectively in spoken and written English; French proficiency will be deemed an asset
  • Provide high-quality care services to clients with current knowledge of practices for community care
  • Physically assist clients with movement and/or repositioning; able to lift 23 kgs., squat, bend, stand and reach
  • Reliable mode of transportation; driver's license and automobile considered as an asset
  • Able to produce a clear Criminal background check with Vulnerable Sector Check
