Job summary

Bayshore HealthCare is seeking a Cleaner to join our home and community health care team. You will perform IPAC-aligned cleaning tasks in client homes to maintain high hygiene and safety standards.

Requirements include at least 1 year in a similar role and a secondary school diploma (Home Support programs preferred). You must be able to travel locally, communicate effectively in English, and lift up to 23 kg. Bayshore offers competitive pay and benefits.

Responsibilities

• Perform IPAC-aligned cleaning activities: sweeping, mopping, dusting, polishing, vacuuming.
• Empty garbage, clean bathrooms, and prepare rooms for patient discharge or admission.
• Follow IPAC and Bayshore procedures for isolation and outbreak room cleans.
• Ensure rooms are cared for, inspected, and equipment protected.
• Notify supervisors of damages or supply shortages; handle requests professionally.

Responsibilities:

• Perform and adhere to IPAC best practices for a variety of cleaning activities such as: Sweeping, mopping, dusting, polishing, vacuuming
• Emptying garbage receptacles, cleaning bathrooms, and
• Completing cleaning after patient discharge.
• Follow IPAC and company procedures for admission room, discharge, and isolation and/or outbreak client room and unit cleaning.
• Ensure all rooms are cared for and inspected according to our high standards.
• Protect equipment and ensure there are no inadequacies.
• Notify superiors of any damages, deficits, and disturbances.
• Handle reasonable complaints/requests with professionalism and patience.
• Check stocking levels of all consumables and replace when appropriate.
• Strictly adhere to health and safety rules and be aware of any company-related practices.
• Complete other duties as assigned.

Education:

Completion of secondary school diploma preferred and/or Home Support Programs as appropriate.

Experience & Skills:

• At least 1 year of experience in a similar position or life experience. Ability to travel locally from assignment to assignment.
