Job summary

Dexterra Group is seeking a motivated Cleaner/Housekeeper in Petawawa, Ontario to maintain sanitary environments across client sites. You will operate cleaning equipment, sanitize high-touch areas and ensure supplies are stocked.

The role requires reliability clearance, strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently or with a team. We offer a supportive workplace with opportunities to grow within a growing North American company.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in commercial or industrial cleaning preferred.
• WHMIS certification is an asset or willingness to obtain.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Physical stamina to lift up to 25 lbs and stand for extended periods.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality work.

Responsibilities

• Perform thorough cleaning of all assigned areas, including floors, washrooms, and common spaces.
• Maintain floors by vacuuming carpets and performing dry/wet mopping.
• Dust visible surfaces, wipe counter tops, furniture and windows.
• Operate cleaning equipment safely and efficiently.
• Replenish cleaning supplies and restroom essentials.
• Empty waste bins and ensure proper waste disposal.
• Sanitize high-touch areas to maintain a hygienic environment.
• Report maintenance issues or safety hazards to the supervisor.
• Adhere to all safety protocols and cleaning standards.

We're looking for amotivated, quality-drivenCleanerto join our team. The Cleaner/Housekeeper willensure a sanitary environment, securing and maintaining tools/equipment used to perform the day to day work and performing other duties as assigned or requested.

Must be able to obtain reliability clearance.

• Perform thorough cleaning of all assigned areas, including floors, washrooms, and common spaces, offices and entrances
• Maintaining the floors; vacuuming carpets and dry/wet mopping floors
• Dusting all visible surfaces within reach which includes counter tops, pillars, lighting fixtures, window ledges and vents
• Wipes and polishes office furniture and glass windows
• Spot cleaning walls, partitions, light switches and doors
• Operate various cleaning equipment and machines efficiently and safely
• Maintain and replenish cleaning supplies and restroom essentials
• Empty and clean wastebins, ensuring proper waste disposal
• Sanitize high-touch areas to maintain a hygienic environment
• Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the supervisor
• Adhere to all safety protocols and cleaning standards

Qualifications

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

• Previous experience in commercial or industrial cleaning preferred
• Proficiency in operating cleaning equipment and machines (e.g., auto scrubber, swing machine, burnisher) is an asset
• WHMIS certification or willingness to obtain (training can be provided)
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality work
• Excellent time management and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Physical stamina to lift up to 25lbs, bend, stoop, and stand for extended periods (8 hours per shift)
• Positive attitude and strong work ethic
• Clear criminal background check required
