Job summary

P.E.I. Bag Co. Ltd. is seeking an Evening Cleaner (Sanitation & Production Support) to maintain cleanliness during and after production in our Prince Edward Island facility.

The role requires cleaning of production areas, equipment and common spaces, with an 2:00pm to 10:00pm shift and a starting pay rate of $19.00/hr plus a $3.00/hr shift premium for full-time evening shifts. Training is provided for wastewater handling and forklift operation where certified.

Responsibilities

• Perform cleaning and sanitation of floors, common areas and zones during active production.

• Empty and replace waste bins throughout the facility.
• Maintain clean, debris-free floors to support safe production operations.
• Follow safety, sanitation and restricted access procedures at all times.
• Complete sanitation checklists and documentation accurately.

Job Title: Evening Cleaner (Sanitation & Production Support)
Department: Sanitation / Housekeeping
Reports To: Customer Service & Logistics Manager

Position Summary

This role is responsible for maintaining cleanliness of the facility during and after production. The Evening Cleaner performs sanitation duties in designated areas while production is running and completes full cleaning once production has stopped.

The Evening Cleaner ensures all equipment, production areas, and facility spaces are cleaned and ready for the next production shift in according with company standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform cleaning and sanitation of floors, common areas, and designated zones during active production
• Complete full sanitation of production equipment and surrounding areas only after equipment has been shut down and cleared for cleaning
• Clean and sanitize washrooms, lunchrooms, and common areas daily
• Empty, clean, and replace waste bins throughout the facility
• Maintain clean, debris-free floors to support safe production operations
• Follow all safety, sanitation, and restricted access procedures at all times
• Complete sanitation checklists and documentation accurately

Operational Support Duties:

• Operate filter press to manage wastewater totes (training provided)
• Operate forklift to move pallets and materials safely in shared spaces (if certified)
• Assist with palletizing materials as required

Qualifications & Requirements

Required:

• Ability to work safely in an active production environment
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow strict sanitation procedures
• Ability to recognize and respect restricted areas and equipment status (running vs. locked out)
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Physically capable of lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods

Preferred:

• Industrial or food production cleaning experience
• Forklift certification or experience

Working Conditions

• Required use of PPE at all times

Pay Rate & Hours:

The starting pay rate for this position is $19.00/hr.
A $3.00/hr shift premium is applied to employees working full-time evening shifts.

This is a full time position with a set shift from 2:00pm to 10:00pm.
