Job summary

GFL - Sewer Technologies Division is seeking a Class 5A Driver to visit client sites, safely collect and transport waste materials, and uphold strict safety and operational standards. You will represent the company professionally and support a zero-incident work environment.

You will operate trucks, maintain logs, and collaborate with dispatch and site staff to ensure timely, compliant service. A valid Class 5 license with air brakes is required, with manual transmission experience a plus.

Qualifications

• Valid Class 5 Driver’s License with Air Brakes and a clean Commercial Driving Abstract.
• Manual transmission experience is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate assigned commercial equipment and ensure trucks and gear are loaded, inspected, and maintained.
• Act as a professional brand ambassador for GFL on client sites and build positive customer relationships.
• Maintain accurate driver logs for hours of service, mileage, and hauled materials per standards.
• Participate in daily safety meetings, JHAs, and LMRA to maintain a zero-incident environment.
• Communicate clearly with dispatchers, site supervisors, and teammates to ensure smooth operations.
• Perform other operational duties as assigned.

Position Summary

As a Class 5A Driver, you will play a critical role in visiting client sites to safely collect, transport, and properly manage waste materials. We are seeking a dependable driver with a clean safety record who brings a strong work ethic, professionalism, and a team-oriented mindset to the job. In this role, you will represent our company on the front lines, delivering reliable service while upholding strict safety standards and operational protocols.

Key Accountabilities

• Safely operate all assigned commercial equipment and ensures trucks and gear are properly loaded, inspected, and maintained.
• Serves as a professional brand ambassador for GFL on client sites, building positive customer relationships and identifying opportunities to expand services.
• Maintains clear, accurate driver logs to track hours of service, mileage, and hauled materials in compliance with company and regulatory standards.
• Actively participates in daily safety meetings, Job Hazard Assessments (JHAs), and Last Minute Risk Assessments (LMRAs) to maintain a zero-incident work environment.
• Communicates clearly and effectively with dispatchers, site supervisors, and fellow team members to ensure smooth daily operations.
• Perform other operational duties and tasks as assigned.

Requirements

• Valid Class 5 Driver’s License with Air Brakes and a clean Commercial Driving Abstract.
• Operating vehicles with a manual transmission is an asset.
