Position Summary

The Driver ensures the safe operation of a truck during driving, loading, and unloading. Responsibilities include driving to customer locations, hoisting bins onto the truck using hydraulic lifts, and dumping loads at transfer stations or landfills.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Operate the truck safely during driving and loading.
• Drive to customer locations for pickups and position the truck for easy lifting.
• Hoist bins onto the truck and empty contents using hydraulic lifts.
• Ensure customer satisfaction through reliable service.
• Complete special pickups as requested.
• Dump contents at designated transfer stations or landfills.
• Drive to transfer stations for weighing.
• Provide run sheets to Dispatch for route sequencing.
• Perform pre- and post-trip inspections.
• Report concerns to mechanics and complete VCRs.

Minimum Requirements

• Valid Class 3 or 1 MB Driver’s license.
• Steel toe boots.
• Problem-solving, critical thinking, map reading, and organizational skills.
• Ability to pass criminal record check and drug test.
• Clean, commercial driver abstract.

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities

• Fast-paced environment.
• Physical labor including lifting over 50 lbs, pushing, pulling, reaching, standing, stooping, crouching, and bending.
• Outdoor work in all weather conditions.
• Guaranteed 10-hour shift per day.
• Approximately 80% driving and 20% labor.
