Job summary

Worklink in Nanaimo is seeking a motivated Class 1 Truck Driver to safely operate a company-owned semi truck on Vancouver Island routes, with home every night and consistent early starts. The role requires a valid Class 1 license with a clean driving record and five years of experience. Pay is $30.00 per hour, routes cover mid-Vancouver Island including Duncan, Port Alberni, Parksville, Comox, Campbell River and Nanaimo, all shifts are local with no overnight stays.

Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and dependable Class 1 Truck Driver to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating a company-owned semi truck. Class 1 driver’s license, clean driver’s abstract and five years of experience required.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate Class 1 commercial trucks to deliver to designated locations, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
• Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, including checking brakes, lights, tires, and other critical systems
• Maintain accurate documentation of deliveries, including delivery logs, inspection reports, and freight manifests
• Communicate effectively with dispatchers, clients, and team members regarding delivery schedules and any issues encountered during routes
• Follow safety protocols at all times to prevent accidents or damage during transportation activities

Skills

• Valid Class 1 commercial driver’s license with a clean driving record
• Ability to troubleshoot vehicle issues efficiently
• Excellent communication skills for coordinating with team members and clients
